#TuesdayTunes - 8.2.16

Hello and happy Tuesday! It's been a tough choice for today's song. There are so many options available and so many amazing things going on. We have the Olympics starting this week (GO USA!), I celebrate my Italian heritage over the weekend at the Italian-American Heritage Festival, and tomorrow marks the day that HeyGiud turns two months old! It's been a rollercoaster of a summer but I wouldn't turn back for anything at this point.

But it's a very special anniversary today for two very, VERY important people in my life, so it's a very special dedication. Today marks 10 years to the day of the very last first date my older brother ever had. It's one of my favorite stories. I had decided I wanted to see my brother happy and it would make me happy if it was with someone I got along with. So I talked a group of my friends and co-workers in to going to a neighborhood bar, Kelley's on Beaver, under the story that I had to be there as my brother's best friend got engaged. It's a true story, his best friend had gotten engaged that night, and it was a great chance to get the girl I wanted my brother to meet to the bar he was at. They hit it off that first night, we all hung out a few more nights and then he finally got her convinced to go out with him on an actual date and the rest was history.

That first date was the start of a decade of happy memories for my brother and his wife, Megan. They have two adorable kids who own every corner of my heart. They have celebrated so many amazing things with each other and been there for each other through hard times. When I introduced my brother to my friend I didn't know that it would turn out the way it did but I am happy that it did. As I put together the photo slideshow for their rehearsal dinner I spent a lot of time crafting the soundtrack that would be used. This song was one of the most important parts of that soundtrack. And ten years after their relationship began, they celebrated Megan's birthday by going to see this artist in concert.

Today's song is "Make You Feel My Love" by Adele. The song was written by Bob Dylan, who in my opinion is one of the greatest songwriters that has ever walked the face of this earth. There are so many versions of this song that exist and I was challenged when I put their soundtrack together as to which version I should pick. Adele's won. Her voice captures emotion in a way that few before her ever have and few after her ever will.

Tony and Megan, happy anniversary to America's Favorite Couple.

As always subscribe to the #TuesdayTunes playlist through Apple Musicand Spotify. You can buy the album this song appears on, 19, digitally, as a CDor on vinylthrough Amazon. I know that Tony and Megan have a few Adele albums in their vinyl collection and it's an investment you won't regret.
